FABRIC CARE (Please see our Terms & Conditions of Sale)

  • We strongly recommend lining for all fabrics when exposed to strong light.
  • Lining improves drapeability and ensures longer life of fabric.
  • Fabric is never completely stable, small fluctuations may occur due to atmosphere change.
  • Every care is taken to ensure consistency in colouring but variations do occur from one dye batch to another. We request that you accept these variations as unavoidable.
  • Do not allow dust to accumulate; regularly vacuum with appropriate attachment.

Velvet (Serenity - Gatsby Collection)

Composition: 28% cotton, 53% acrylic, 12% poly and 7% viscose.

Gentle vacuum only. Professional dry cleaning only is recommended. Good quality block lining preferred.

Gentle steaming on reverse side only to get rid of ‘creasing' incurred through transportation.

Note: Delivery/transportation of velvet is a reasonably disadvantaged procedure due to the fineness of the texture of the fabric. It can sometimes produce a ‘crumpling' or ‘creasing' in the fabric which is not unusual. Minimise this by hanging in situ as soon as possible to correct any irregularities. Gentle steaming as above can also help.

If using Serenity for curtaining and for the best appearance of this beautiful velvet, sew the fabric with the pile running up. Serenity has a 45,000 rub (martindale) test and is a dual purpose fabric ideally suited to upholstery applications.
